  1. We agree who will use the report and which questions it has to answer.
  2. I design the data model: fact and dimension tables, relationships, a calendar.
  3. I write DAX measures: margin, year-on-year growth, plan vs actual, shares.
  4. I design clear report pages — overview first, then details, then data quality.
  5. I set up refresh and sharing within the agreed scope.
  6. I check that the dashboard numbers match your existing reports.

How I approach it

A good dashboard starts with questions, not charts. Before I build the first page, we write down 5⁠–⁠10 questions the report has to answer and the definitions of the metrics. That way you don’t end up with another report that looks nice but nobody uses. If your company doesn’t have Power BI Pro licences, I’ll show you what can be done in the free Power BI Desktop or in Excel — that decides how the report is shared.

Sales and margin dashboard

Problem
Sales, margin and plan figures sit in several spreadsheets — there’s no single view for management.
Data
12 months of sales in two channels, 10 product categories, plan and actual for 5 regions.
Work
A data model with a calendar, DAX measures (margin, growth, plan vs actual) and three report pages: overview, profitability, regions.
Result
One report that answers: how are sales going, which categories drive margin and which regions are on plan.

Questions

Is a paid Power BI licence required?

The free Power BI Desktop is enough to build the report. Sharing reports with other people in the Power BI service usually requires paid licences, so we agree the sharing method at the start.

Can the dashboard be built in Excel instead?

Yes. For small teams and simpler data an Excel dashboard is often the better choice: no licences and no training needed. I’ll recommend what fits your situation.

Do you work with companies outside Poland?

Yes. Reports and documentation can be in English and the work is fully remote. Invoices are issued through Useme, a Polish freelance platform that holds your payment until you accept the work — in EUR if you prefer.

What happens after the 30 days of support?

After the 30 days I quote small fixes separately, always before starting, or we agree ongoing support. The documentation also lets someone else take the solution over.

How do we work together, and how does billing work?

You describe the problem in a few sentences. Within 1 business day I reply with questions or a proposal, then send a free quote with the scope, timeline and price. I bill through Useme, a Polish freelance platform: you get a VAT invoice, and your payment can be held by Useme until you accept the work. An NDA is available on request.
